WhatsApp link generator
Type a phone number and an optional message to get a link that opens a WhatsApp chat. Share it on a poster, a status or a website, so people can message you in one tap.
How the link is built
WhatsApp supports a simple web address of the form https://wa.me/<number>?text=<message>. The number must be in full international format with no plus sign, spaces, dashes or leading zeros. This tool removes those for you, adds the country code you choose, and encodes your message so spaces and symbols are safe in a link.
Worked example
For an Indian number 98765 43210 with the message “Hi, I want to book a table”, the link becomes https://wa.me/919876543210?text=Hi%2C%20I%20want%20to%20book%20a%20table. Anyone who taps it opens a chat with that number and the message filled in.
Good to know
- Only create links for numbers you own or have permission to share. Do not publish another person’s number.
- A business number published online may receive spam. Consider a separate number for public use.
- Nothing you type here is stored or sent to anyone. The link is built in your browser.
- The guide to click-to-chat links explains more ways to use them.
Frequently asked questions
Do people need to save my number first?
No. The link opens a chat directly without saving the contact.
Why must I remove the leading zero?
International format uses the country code instead of the local leading zero. The tool does this when you pick a country.
Does it work for WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The same link format works for both.
